I decided to hit a new area with the Deus at an old location, and boy I'm glad I did! Judging from the dates of the coins and types of finds, I'm thinking this site was some sort of camp circa 1850 (with some early 1900s finds scattered in there). I'm thinking camp cause of the spoons and density of the finds. My finds over the last three day included spoons and pottery galore, a pair of sterling salt and pepper shaker lids, 2 buttons, 7 large cents, 1 v-nickel, 4 flying eagle cents, multiple buckles, lead ID tag with hand carved letters, hand drill, and some items I cannot identify but look hand-made and old. Yikes, you have a nice target-rich environment there! :icon_thumright:

Keep in mind I wouldn't do either method if the coins were rare
enough to have them graded. For common large and small cents I give them peroxide baths on a candle
warmer until I'm satisfied with the way they look. I use peroxide because it doesn't remove metal, unlike electrolysis. Finally I soak the cents in mineral oil for a couple
of days to bring the shine back. Forgive me for the long answer, but I'm trying to preemptively answer the follow up questions. Hope this helps!

Thanks for sharing. Amazing to find four of those in one trip. Congrats again on a great hunt and best of luck at that site.

Love it, so many great finds and looks like a great site...that will keep on producing. HH 8-)

pretty amazing site, congrats on the awesome finds, hope they clean up well for you

Amazing finds! I would be ecstatic to find a flying eagle, but finding 4 would be like....well....I don't know! Have never had such incredible luck in detecting, lol. The military relics alone would have been great to me. Congrats!

Wow! Excellent day for anyone! Congratulations and thanks for sharing. Please show us when you are done cleaning them

Stone structure looks like a old grain storage bldg ,,,, similar ones are still used in Pa by farmers
