Yo, everyone, it is the Colonial Zoyboy here. I am so pumped right now that you uttsters wouldn't believe it. Now, on to the story.

Colonial Silver Zeus, Colonial KirkPA, and I got back out to the Colonial silver pasture again. The weatherman said that there were going to be sporadic showers throughout the day. Well, to make a long metal detecting story short, the three datectateers decided to give it a go.

The day started off pretty slow, with only a few dropped musketballs and two Wheat pennies. :D During these few hours of unproductiveness, I went into my John "Johnny" Walter impersonation stage of the day. For about 10 minutes straight, I was babbling like this, "Yup, yup, they're here, boys, they are here. Non-glazed 1700s, and glazed 1800s." It wasn't long before we decided to give another area of the pasture a metal detecting go.

"Rain, rain go away and come again on a non-detecting day," as stated by the Colonial Zoyboy. Right when we arrived at our "new" pasture location, Uncle Colonial Silver Zeus stated to Colonial KirkPA, "I can smell them, Kirk, I can smell them (in reference to Colonial silver)." Kirk said in a John Walter-like voice, "I know they are here; listen for them faint signals." Well, we were detecting around a pile of brush, when I was startled with an analog-style "A" on "Half" reading. I called Kirk and Zeus over to watch me dig the reading. I eventually dug the three and a half inches of doyt (dirt) out of the historic turf. I instantly saw a gleam of wilver at the bottom. I could only mutter out, "1774 TWO REALES, 1774 TWO REALES, 1774 TWO REALES, OH MY, GOD, OH MY, UUUUUUUUUTT!!!!" After a round of extreme celebratory clubbing, the landowner came out and wanted to know what was found. I showed it to him and he said, "Unbelievable! Congratulations!" We agreed to give him a framed, 4 x 6" picture of the recovery. He seemed very excited to be able to show his family members the history from his land.

The finds from this site in three weeks of hunting:
-1774 two reales
-1784 half real
-Dateless Draped Bust cent
-1825 Coronet cent
-1828 Coronet cent
-Handfuls of buttons
-Many dropped musketballs

I am proud to say that we will be returning next week in search of a four reales or pillar dollar. :D We just began this new section, and we decided to call it quits after this find, considering that we had a lack of concentration. :D

Keep the fever high, folks!

Kyle..I am so psyched right now I'm ready to pop. You deserve this find my boy. Your research, your site. This is what it's all about. It's what we're after. The best site handsdown. We should find more here also. Even though we were walking around with bags on our detectors it was an extremely enjoyable time. The future is very bright indeed dude. :icon_king:

Thanks, buddy, for the reply. We have thought about taking pictures in the field, but I don't wear gloves and the doyt would get into the camera. I know we should, but it will probably never happen. We are too spastic to just keep the coin in the hole. :D
