I'm asking Stupid Question here.

IF you Drop a 225LB. DRAW, Magnet into a Hole & It attaches? to a 2000 lb Piece of Metal (let's say, Small Car) .

How do you Pull it Up ? (the Magnet)

If you can, OR CAN'T, How do you Release the Magnet from the Car ?

QUOTE From Source

" The BOOTLEGGERS always raised the American Flag as the Police Closed the Mine.
BUT it was the Bootleggers who Made the Final Gesture, which usually turned to violence. the
Miners forced the police away from their Motorcycles, seized one of the vehicles and
threw it down the mine shaft. the seizure of the vehicle seemed like part of the act:
the Police Closed the Mine And the Miners Threw the Motorcycle down the shaft.
NO one was arrested, and within a short time, the crowd Dispersed.
NEXT MONTH, another performance with the same results.
? ? one Bootlegger Relates a Different story. SOMETIMES the scene became ugly
and violent, especially when they dynamited the hole. whenever things got
rough there were ALWAYS TWO SOUNDS, one when the police Blew the Hole Shut,
and the other when the Miners Blew up one of their Motorcycles."

?Elswhere it says they Drove INDIANS ?;D

Could I ask the next stupid question? Suppose, lets say a certain gypsy knew where there was a buried Indian motorcyle since 1977 ?....buried between two car hoods and alot of other junk.....would it be worth anything ?...... And just say if a certain gypsy went and dug it up would she be able to find a buyer for this?.....hmmmmm...I always liked Indian artifacts....just never realized this one was worth digging :-\

INDIAN MOTORCYCLES are the MOST Valuable Motorcycle I know of.

The Parts alone are VERY VALUABLE.

IF it hasn't Rusted to Oblivian, There Should be a Few Parts (CHROME) that could
Make you VERY HAPPY? ;)
www.allamericanindianmotorcycleclub.com

THIS one you could Probably trade for a couple of HARLEYS ;)

If you can, OR CAN'T, How do you Release the Magnet from the Car ?

1. Make sure you have the ability to lift more than 225 lbs. before you lower the magnet in the first place.

2. I believe these "pull ratings" are best case scenarios, full surface contact with the magnet, pulled from exactly 90 deg. The shear (sideways) strength is always much less than the tensile strength, so if you can pull sideways, you can slide it off the object.

I think a grappling hook would work better for lifting a motorcycle, it would be hard to get sufficient contact with a magnet unless you had a really huge electro magnet like they use for cars at the scrap iron yards.

I'm guessing that an old Indian police bike would weigh a lot more than 225 lbs.

Magnetism is a very short-range force, so no reasonable magnet will pull things out of the ground that it doesn't actually touch.

Has a certain gypsy made a Freudian slip?

A 500 lb wench would be huge! A 500 lb winch would not be too large though. Could probably do more work too. ;D
