large watch case

I found this "watch" case in a milwaukee park yesterday. No markings that I can see, even under a microscope. One of the three buttons is still on with an "0" ring still there. Maybe this device is intended for use in, or around, water. Any help with an ID?

It is 5/8th thick, and 2"X2"

I agree. Most likely was a multifunction digital. Stopwatch, timer, etc. Either it hasn't been exposed to the elements long, or it's a better grade of metal...
It seems in really good condition.
