Wednesday hunt with Bill D, and Thursday hunt with Bill and Brad (outdoor ADV).
Wednesday Bill and I started off at my pond site that has been so good to me. And Cjon.
We were able to grab a few keepers.
Didn't set the word on fire, but I did witness Bill dig down over a foot and pull out a keeper. Wow, he knows his machine very well!
I managed to get a few buttons and a musket ball from the site.
Then we hit a big soybean field that was just cut. I grabbed a toasted copper out of that one, and a couple more buttons.
Saved the best site for last, we spent a couple hours there Wednesday afternoon, we wanted to save it for Brad for the next. I was able to get a LC, and a silver spoon with initials and some buttons. Lol.
The next day, Thursday we meet up with Brad in the morning, he had over a 3hour drive to get to us.
We headed back to the same site.
This site is the one Beez got permission for when he came up from NC. ( Thanks Jay).lol
He turned over the permission to me after they went back down south, so technical it was my site! haha.
Anyway I'm going on way to long here. On this day I dug this stamped brass shield rosette with a lead back.
At least we believe its a rosette.
Im including a pic of the shield buckle that was found here that I just got in the mail today from (Smittyman) he send it to me because I really liked it. It was so funny that he did that the day after I dug the rosette. Wow, how cool.
Thanks Steve.
All in All it was not a fantastic hunt for me, but the guys I meet made up for it 10 fold!!!! Nicest Guys you ever wanted to meet!!!! Oh almost forgot, the the masonic Cufflink I found at the same site I found the other one about 8 months ago, not sure they were a pair? Because the other one is a little bigger. But how cool would it be if they were back together after 200 years....
Ps, stay tuned..

Great post and awesome finds! The cufflink and shields are really intriguing. You're Killin it as always! Keep it up.....no pressure lol

Pretty nice finds George. Did Bill use the F75 when he got the 12"+ hit?:laughing7: Not bad for an American made detector if he did8-)

Yes he did Dave!!
Made me a believer.
Oh by the way he had the 15inch coil on, and 99 sensitivity..Haha.

99 sensitivity?? The chatter would drive me nuts lol.

Now that's some serious detecting George. Sounds like you had fun on your last two hunts. :occasion14:

Great post George. The rosette and silver spoons are sweet! Smittyman sounds like a good guy to send you that and crazy coincidence it arrived the day after the shield... wonder if they were off the same set of horse tack. Big difference in your two cufflinks... years of fertilizer really takes its toll doesn't it?!... but its awesome to see them together again. Can never go wrong with toasted coppers and buttons though. Good times man

Thanks Brad,
It was alot of fun! And great that we all could meet and do some swinging. Maybe next time you and I can find something Awesome? !?!?..lol

Heyyyy, looks like another deputy dog badge! Nice digs Georgie including them toasties. That cuff link is a great find. Now you gotta have those two attached. It's 9pm so I better stop posting now before I get in trouble.

Steve

Glad you got to meet some great people buddy. I have been in communication with both Bill and Brad and consider them to be great new friends. Oh yeah and just as overboard obsessed as you and I. Didn't realize that was possible lol. I'm sure the Cufflink is very nice but you pretty much suck at taking pics bro 8-). Good thing you're awesome at finding the goods. Some really nice finds there my friend. I'm excited to see what the boys found. I may or may not have gotten a teaser pic

Killer finds once again, George! Nice cuff link- it would be cool to see a pict of the pair together. Can't help with the shield ID, but no doubt some eagle eyed TNetter will! :)

I found plow destroyed can slaw. I'm reconstructing a Budweiser can for my display case. :laughing7: Good company made it some of the best can slaw I've ever dug though... and I got to see a few great finds surface. It was a blast.
