Wednesday hunt with Bill D, and Thursday hunt with Bill and Brad (outdoor ADV).
Wednesday Bill and I started off at my pond site that has been so good to me. And Cjon.
We were able to grab a few keepers.
Didn't set the word on fire, but I did witness Bill dig down over a foot and pull out a keeper. Wow, he knows his machine very well!
I managed to get a few buttons and a musket ball from the site.
Then we hit a big soybean field that was just cut. I grabbed a toasted copper out of that one, and a couple more buttons.
Saved the best site for last, we spent a couple hours there Wednesday afternoon, we wanted to save it for Brad for the next. I was able to get a LC, and a silver spoon with initials and some buttons. Lol.
The next day, Thursday we meet up with Brad in the morning, he had over a 3hour drive to get to us.
We headed back to the same site.
This site is the one Beez got permission for when he came up from NC. ( Thanks Jay).lol
He turned over the permission to me after they went back down south, so technical it was my site! haha.
Anyway I'm going on way to long here. On this day I dug this stamped brass shield rosette with a lead back.
At least we believe its a rosette.
Im including a pic of the shield buckle that was found here that I just got in the mail today from (Smittyman) he send it to me because I really liked it. It was so funny that he did that the day after I dug the rosette. Wow, how cool.
Thanks Steve.
All in All it was not a fantastic hunt for me, but the guys I meet made up for it 10 fold!!!! Nicest Guys you ever wanted to meet!!!! Oh almost forgot, the the masonic Cufflink I found at the same site I found the other one about 8 months ago, not sure they were a pair? Because the other one is a little bigger. But how cool would it be if they were back together after 200 years....
Ps, stay tuned..
