I did not think I was going to get a Sunday late afternoon hunt in but my wife saw me pacing the floor and looking at maps and gave me a kitchen pass :coffee2: So I went to my third new site of the weekend . This site is an old swimming hole in a neighboring town . A little bit of fishing is still done here but they have no swimming signs up now ! The water looked a bit stagnant and was overrun with ducks . There was a nice flat wooded bench just above the pond . I figured it had been a field years ago probably with cattle and horses . I knew this place had been hunted but I gave it a go . Did ok ! the site has been pretty much cherry picked to death yet still enough pulltabs signals around to know there were other finds to be made as well. I had my first Indian head in ten minutes with an early wheatie just 3 feet away .Signals kept showing up and and in between the pulltabs a coin showed up here and there as well as the ring , Plated yes but with an interesting patriotic design. F of A ? Farmers of America ? Instead of FFA Future farmers of America ? I ended up with two Indians 1876, and 1894, I think the 1903 V nickel is my best conditioned V yet :icon_sunny:. . Two war nickels both 1943 , A no date buffolo, 5 wheaties , 1917 - 1951 , a small ball button and a flat button rounds the field of finds . I will go back again but I am hoping for some higher priority land to come through ! Thanks for looking. MaineRelic

It all takes time ! Hopefully make a few finds along the way to finding that unhunted nook :sign13: MaineRelic

that 1876 IHC is in wonderful condition!

Nickels don't seem to hold up too well here in New England do they?

You got that right Testing ! This ground was surprisingly nice to the 76 Indian as well as the V nickel ! Thanks for looking ! M.R.

Those are some neat finds. I like the ring.

Nice finds man :icon_thumleft:

I gotta say the signs of what you cant do now are depressing :'(

In the 80's you could swim, jump off cliffs, ride in the back of a pickup..

nice looking 76 IH!! MR TUFF

Nice pile of finds! That 1876 indian is one year away from the key, still its a scarce coin and in nice shape to be dug. I would be happy with it. HH

Love those Indians ;D
up here it seems you can dig a toasted copper, then a beauty 25 feet away,
'Microclimates' ?
Nice digs
