Late yesterday at the beach

There were quite a few people out at the beach yesterday, I had business in the area so "accidentally" took the detector for a swing. Was 92 degrees when I left so I only dug about two and a half hours. The sweeper had been through so most of the big junk was out of the way. Funny how they never manage to get the aluminum cans which are 5" down.

Anyway, started off with a bottlecap bonanza. There was another big party there over the weekend. Some of the trash has already been thrown out.

Finally started getting some clad, then moved to the land of the sinkers Toward the end I SPOTTED the little ring just lying there! Not the first time I have found good items on top of the ground, but it doesn't happen frequently, although among those things spotted in the past have been minie balls, some very old coins and of course a lot of modern coins.

The sinke View attachment 1498861rs are all reusable, and the ring is marked 10K. Not an expensive style ring, but you gotta love those beach parties. Last pic is my bud LittleWhile And here's my new adoptee, Miss Tiger Lily.

That's LittleWhile's best friend Miss Beth with him. He is a Maine Coon cat and weighs 25 pounds and is 40 inches long. Mice die of fright when he comes by.

Thank you all. And I ALWAYS have come back with something from the beach. From Coin Beach, Delaware, it may be just one or two clad coins or Zincolns, but there is driftwood, shells, seaglass and some few and far between American Indian artifacts. My SECRET for the beach is that when I had my boat, I would put out the binoculars and watch the habits of the crowds from the water, watching their comings and goings. They established a pattern, and I went for it! Different day, same pattern for some reason.
