He inherited most of his fortune through his father, through dubious tax schemes and other fraudulent means to avoid inheritance tax.

I won't even bother going into how many times he's filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy, trump shuttle, Plaza Hotel, Taj Mahal, the Atlantic City casinos, blah, blah.
