Thank you, old man...whoever you are!
Just now, I learned first hand why you should always ask for half dollars at the bank, no matter denomination of coin you usually search!
I went into a bank that I don't go to as much to buy a box of nickels and pennies. After I got my boxes, I casually ask if they have any halves. The teller said another teller got two rolls of them that some old man cashed in. I told her that I'd buy them both.
I handed her a twenty, got the rolls and left. Once I got in the truck, I opened the rolls. The first produced one 1967 40% half. Not bad. The next? Well, that was a sweet sight. I dumped the coins in my hand and multiple silver edges were seen! I checked them out and found a 1966, two more 1967, a 1968-D and a 1969-D. To just add icing to the cake, add on a 1951-D Franklin half!
Just goes to show that it doesn't take much to get that silver.
