I really like seeing the themed threads and this one may have been done before. Here are two of my latest in situ pics. Feel free to post them like you find them!

Brewerton type, I'd say. Almost stepped on it.

That is a very nice display, I have only found the fossil leg bones. Hopefully I will find a whole skull.

In some regions soil conditions do not allow good bone preservation. I have not seen very many intact bison skulls come out of Texas and those I have seen were found in streambeds.

In some regions soil conditions do not allow good bone preservation. I have not seen very many intact bison skulls come out of Texas and those I have seen were found in streambeds.

Usually what I find down here is fossil bone fragments that wash out of a layer offshore and end up on the beach, I’ve found one whole cannon bone and several broken ones. Some teeth as well.

From the color I would say that it is a heat treated piece.
