I really like seeing the themed threads and this one may have been done before. Here are two of my latest in situ pics. Feel free to post them like you find them!

this pestle from Indiana was found south of my house a few miles. nicely made, mostly pecked with very little polish and no dimple.

I’m not positive but some have divots and some are flat on the grinding end. Might Have been used for 2 different tasks. A old timer I know calls them pounders. Nice find

I still have a couple more then I’m really done 😃

Few years ago they drained a lake in Oklahoma and my son went out and did a ground survey, and told me it was worth checking out. I made it down there and we found a pretty much undisturbed temporary campsite that had been underwater for years. A couple of fire rings, some flint quarried in Texas,, lots of artifacts, just as they had left them. We took a lot of pics and just left a lot of stuff there. It was an undocumented site so we did report it to the OK Archaeology department at OU. They noted it but didn't have much interest in it. One of the coolest places I'd ever looked over in SWOK.

this axe is from the site that in 2020 was the crazy three months of hardstone, every weekend, Saturday and Sunday, I found hardstone and flint. it was my best run in over 10 years.

this Coshocton corner notch was found in the low area between two rises. a nice point which was unexpected in the area. i walk up to the rise and found the axe posted earlier in this thread which i seen a ways away when i looked to the west as i paused.

During our artifacts hunts over many years we have found numerous bison skulls which fit in nicely with a Plains artifact collection. This is an in situ of one such find (first two pics are scans of older photos).

Last image shows the skull in its current state of preservation.

Been meaning to get around to this thread I’ve posted before but the fish looking point is my favorite in situ, I know I have more but things are scattered between phones, computers, external hard drives, and the cloud.
