Lets talk Sand Scoops??

I'm looking at the Stealth scoops, and there are so many options and choices!

720i or 920i?

Which hole size? 1/2 inch or 1/8 inch?

Which lift assist? D-sized or single bar or straight bar?

My personal preference is the 920ix with the carbon fiber shaft and the heavy duty lift assist D handle. My 920 has the 1/2" holes except the back plate, which has 1/2" holes in the upper section, and narrow slots in the lower to help catch small targets like stud earrings.

Which coil do you usually use when beach hunting? That can determine which scoop to use. I'm guessing that since you want to cover as much ground as possible, it would be the 11-inch or 15-inch coil.

15" for me. I'd use something bigger, if they made one, and it was still sensitive to small targets.

15" on dry or wet sand, greater swing coverage. 11" in the water as it has less coil drag than the 15".

If water hunting may I suggest the 920i because of the wider profile.
Dry sand and wet/damp sand I recommend the 720i for its deeper basket.
These are personal preferences.
Too small of holes will choke the basket and won’t empty/drain effectively.
The small holes or slits at the back/bottom will catch the smaller targets.

Yes, i use a coob hexagonal. Or say goodbye to your back and knees. 15540495582361912843372.webp

The Coob would never hold up to my type of use. Not enough gussetting in the corners.....especially the top panel.
