Got out to the Cellar i found my Liberty Buckle at..The day was absolutely beautiful warm sun and a nice breeze.

Honestly i couldn't think of anything else i would rather of been doing..Drove out to CT early this morning with the intentions of finding this piece! This site has been hit good it's amazing i found both pieces..I was pretty shocked when i pulled it out!:headbang:You couldn't scratch out a find anywhere near this giant cellar..All finds were roaming the site..

Got a nice Dome gilted button which i think is early..

1837 large cent roaming some walls across the stream..

And the mystery letter B just like i thought it would be!!I believe i know who this buckle belonged to.:icon_thumright:

Although broken at the three thin points it's pretty thick brass..The pieces were a couple hundred pieces apart it must
have taken quite a force to break it and scatter..I like pondering how finds got lost...

Here is the original post..

Also nabbed the regular buttons and such..Its gonna be a good year:hello:

Freakin' awesome...I still think that is one of the best finds I've seen in a very long time.

You REALLY beat the odds there. Finding the other half is almost a miracle. Congrats.

What an awesome recovery to get the missing piece, what a recovery and save. Most will detect their whole life and not get close in finding something as this one. Getting the second part I'll say you hit one of those once in a lifetime type finds, I take my hat off to your dedication in returning to recover this piece of history and making it complete once again.

Congrats on getting the missing piece, that doesn't happen very often!

Absolutely amazing. Great stories and thanks for sharing. GL&HH

Wow Blaze, thats another great save there !! :occasion14: Thanks for sharing, keep up the good work at saving history :headbang:

Hey Johnny, Is it my imagination, or when the pieces are put together, do the voids spell 'I H'? Is that significant? Way to go in reuniting the pieces!

Yes, IH or 1H was discussed in the banner find, but as to date no positive ID has been made for these unusual pieces. At least we now know of a LB & a EM. Therefore adding to the mystery. People initials for these are the most obivious.

Wow. I'm blown away that you found the missing piece. WTG, Blaze! The LC looks great- how did you clean it to get it looking so nice? Thanks for sharing with us.

Wow thats really awesome.

Way to go JB to find the other half of the buckle is AWESOME along with other great digs CONGRATS

Fantastic save!! I can't remember, did you guess the "B" because it was the initials of a one-time owner of the land, or local Rev War vet? I can't remember how you came to the conclusion that the missing piece had that letter on it. Would love to see a photo of the complete buckle. I keep praying that I find the rest of my spanish colonial cap badge down here, since like your relic it's a very rare one. Goes to show that it can happen! BIG congrats!
