Took the day off work yesterday to have a new windsheild put in the suburban. Finished up around noon then took my girl out detecting. She is very new to this but is extremely happy to find a few zinc pennies. I gave her my Prizm 3 & she bought a Tinytec probe, I made her a "Mighty Diggin Tool" so she is all set to go! We go to one of my overhunted, over rated local parks & after about an hour and a half she start hollering at me, I look over & she is jumping up & down. Heatstroke? Maybe I finally drove her over the edge of sanity? She found her 1st ring, a big, gawdy gold plated job, mens ring that says #1 dad! When we left I had found less than a dollar in clad but I found way more pulltabs than her! lol We then went to another park, pulltab city, & she smoked me in clad, she found a bunch of change in one hole. I'll never hear the end of this, it was a very dark day for me! But she is absolutely addicted! I did however find this little whistle, it was black with crud & plugged up, but cleaned up real nice! It is the diameter of a .22 cal shell & almost 2 inches long. Can anyone tell me how old it is, what it was used for, etc? I thought it was a dog whistle but it is very loud & shrill. Looks real old, any info is appreciated. I'll let my girl post pics of her ring, look for her, she is "The Lizard Queen".

Congratulations on kicking AP's butt in metal detecting. He seems to be "all talk" and it sounds like you're "all action". I hope you wear that ring everyday and hold it in front of his face....and show him who's the "Queen of Detecting" in your house.

She now holds that ring in my face & continually reminds me that she kicked my butt but good!
