I found this at an old antebellum home and need help identifying it. It is silver

I believe the lion with the paw in the air is indicative of sterling silver.

The Lion Passant mark is usually used in conjunction with other touch marks to identify the maker, date, asset office.
I haven't seen an image that is like the one shown.

The other thing that stands out on the piece is the cut in the base.
This is usually done to see the metal content through the whole piece for testing.

Well the cut in the bottom is from my shovel I believe. Where I found it was from a house that was tore down sometime before the 20s

Is there any other touch marks besides the Lion?
