Hello amigos, just wanted to share with you my humble find :)

I was detecting very early in the morning this sunday here in Spain, I'm underwater hunter but the waves were crazy so I decided to stay at the shore on the low tide. Suddenly I found a quite high and deep tone and I decide to dig it. I was not expecting nothing good, maybe an old coin or a piece of aluminium or whatever. When it was finally out I see this tinny beeeeeeauty! :love10: It tourned out to be half Spanish Real macuquina from the end of XVI century! It had a dark purpelish patina that now I'm not sure if it was good idea to clean, but whatever, I LOVE to see the shine of the old silver!

Blows my mind thinking that it was there at the beach 400+ years and imagening how it arrived there, who were the owners of that, what was payed with it.. and I think this is one of the reasons why our hobby is so beautyful. I feel absolutely blessed to have a little piece of history like that in my hands.

Hope you liked, greatings from the Mediterranean!

Thank you mate! aluminium foil covering a glass, boiling water and baking soda, move it with a spoon, leave it there for 15 minutes and clean the piece with dry baking soda again. In some cases a soft brush helps. Works quite good with silver rings, coins or any silver. Sometimes you need to repeat the process
