Little pocketknife

Could this be Civil War era? It looks to be made of either bone or mother of pearl and the hardware in it is heavy brass but it's so very small (3 inches) that I wondered if a soldier would carry something this small? It was found right in the thick of things during The Battle of Nashville.

suspect it is newer......... had one like it once. could it be I lost it there??

You know I had one like it too on but mine was plastic coated.Maybe it's mine .
