Cool finds. Can't tell about that last one though. Maybe a top view picture.

That preform was close to being finished and those scrapers are nice. Glad to see somebody scored today. I know I didnt.

I love bring everything home for studying. Looks like you have been having fun.

Rock, these finds were found over the course of a week or more. The preform may have been a quick and crude. If not, they must have noticed that their wasn't enough lithic to complete what they had started, and tossed it. I have found more cores in this field than any I've ever hunted.

Looks like you might have some nice finds in photo's 11-14, but your last item may be one of those ''adz's that are more frequently found back in the eastern states. :icon_thumright:

Thanks Digger. In my opinion, my best find here is the large crude hoe/spade. I didn't post a good pic of it. It has nice (nice for what it is) work along the bit. It may be a guilford type axe rather than a dirt tool. I really can't say. I'm going to get better pics of it up. It is old and weathered and deserves better photography. Lol. Thanks for the view partner.

Dusty did you get my way over due package?

Not yet Kuger. I'm sure it'll make it and I surely do appreciate it. PM me if it is abnormally late on it's arrival. I really do appreciate your doing that for me.

sent it Friday so it should be soon...if not have lots more

I saw where some of the cores might actually be something called "Boiling Stones". I know they had pottery balls for boiling also but I read where they actually used flints for boiling too. So those cores if they are small might be a different type of artifact than just a core.

Didn't know that rock. Thanks for the info. It makes sense. Wouldn't fire damage be seen on the ones used for this?

Boiling Stones. Water

They had pots, lol
