Hello, my name is Andreas and I live in the northern parts of Sweden, I started to pan for gold with a sluice two weeks ago and have been to a couple of small creeks/brooks in the forest, havnt found any gold yet though. So, I have a question, today I found a pretty promising spot, a small creek in the forest with lots of quartz stones, I sluiced about 3 gallons of sand and dirt and didnt find anything, however, theres LOADS of pyrite on the bottom of the creek, is that a indicator that there might be gold there? Wasnt so much black sand or so, I only sluiced and panned in the outlet of the creek, the outlet runs to the sea. So a summary.

Small creek
Lots of quartz
Loads of pyrite on the bottom
The creek first goes to a small mire and then out to the sea

The area is also known for its high concentration of iron in the soil.

Thanks :-)

Andreas
