Awesome find! What kind of detector did you find this with? And what did it ring up as? VDI number? Keep hunting and find some more!

Hi; If that is a 50 Pesos coin I hereby vote BANNER.!!! Great Find. PEACE:RONB

That's a beautiful and valuable coin. Certainly banner worthy. As said before if you elaborate on the story of the find and get some great pics that'll be up top in no time. Congrats on a killer find

It is definitely a genuine coin

Okay here's the story I'm going to put it in the next post

I found this point while searching and Ben in property that I know has been inhabited since the early 1940s the recently was just sold for construction of a restaurant I have to give information by the previous owner to search the property I found mini meal any and other junk items a few Wheaties but yesterday I came across this it rang a solid 81 on my metal detector I dug down approximately 8 inches only to find this beautiful coin sunshine back with me . I was in amazement I could not believe that I found something so precious I took it home cleaned it up and it is now in my collection of the other rare coin that I have and I've been handed down through generations of our family this is absolutely beautiful coin. I live on the border of Mexico and Texas in the Rio Grande Valley. The actual location I'm going to keep secret because I do not want my people in on this man's property. And like I said I am NOT through searching this property with this new Garrett a AT pro

I took the pictures with my phone before putting it away for safekeeping and stealing it if somebody wants to give me their phone number I will text from a picture of it maybe they can post it up there for me it does look a lot better on my phone that says in the post

Here's another picture of it

Can anyone tell me what is the value of this coin

Ha! An 81 is a dead solid penny (at least for the last seveal hundred times) on my AT. I bet I have passed on a few for that reason too :( .

make sure you submit that story on the Garrett monthly finds and you could also be the proud owner of an at gold also.

How do I submit that to Garrett

Nice recovery !

Dusty, you have a very large coin, by my calulations it's just over an oz of pure gold after factoring in the alloy material. It would be much better if you took a new set of pictures with your cell phone if you wish (make sure the GPS is turned of on the phone if you have GPS) , also place a dime or quarter beside it for scale and use a darker back ground. Then open your original post on page 1 and select EDIT. Kick on the little square icon beside the one that looks like a piece of movie film to open your picture attachment, you need to do this for each picture after you upload the picture.
This would to well to help you get this onto the Banner, where it should be.

For people interested in VDI numbers a full gold sovereign which is about a quarter of the size of this coin gives me a 62 on my ATP, so I could easily see a large gold coin like this one tip the scales at 81.

Very nice find! Can you please tell us how you got permission to MD such a potentially great site?
There has to be more to this story than you are telling.(even "abandoned property has an owner!)
