Stopped at the neighborhood 7-11 and got this in my change. Didn't notice till I got in the car and put my change away. I was wondering why there was a lady's figure on our quarters, hadn't seen one of those before, on closer inspection it's a French Franc $1. 1961! image.webp

I hope I did this right!
Sorry it's sideways.

Thanks all for the guidance and encouragement!
As for video...I once unintentionally, made one of my feet walking, didn't know I had turned it on! So I doubt I will be trying that one, I don't know the difference between PDF and BVD !
Hollywood is safe for now!
Old Dude-if I find any, use a pillow, easier on the head! If I can't get the orientation right your all going to need pillows!

I live and learn, and go forth to make the world wonder...WHAT IN THE HECK WAS SHE THINKING!!!!!

Aren't BVD's underwear?:laughing7::icon_scratch:

Ha! nice! love when you get paid to go to 7-11. :D

Just Wondering is it Magnetic?

Old Dude-yes that's what those are.

WHADIFIND-LMAO!!! that would still be illegal in Mass.....hmm...do I recall a certain "someone" who made several trips out of the house saving his collection from a detector & pin pointer in less than appropriate "attire" ?????????

Voodoo-sure beats getting short changed!

Danvers- yes it is, just tested it, so it's steel coated with nickel?

Cool , Always Heard Pure Nickel was Magnetic. Sooo-Likely No Steel Coat.

I believe Perses said it is listed as made of nickel. So just what in the heck do they make our nickels out of aluminum? So far none of our modern coins are magnetic. They are probably putting plastic in them, and next they'll be floating, then we'll be scooping them.
I shouldn't be giving them ideas!

Yep, sure nuff! BUT, it WAS after dark AND it was an emergency! (good thing I wasn't taking a bath! ewwwwwwww! OH NO! I'm talking out loud again ain't I!?!?!) :tongue3:

I have a pile of those francs. I wish I could scrap them...nickel is worth a little. Local yards don't take foreign coins...probably because of so many wacky alloys they are hard to classify.

U.S. Nickels are made of Copper-Nickel.

I always thought about Getting a bunch of foreign coins and scrapping then but then again it would take alot of coins to make a pound.
I would have to get the coins for next to nothing.
Davers.

WHADIFIND - at lest it wasn't on video!

We need our own metal smelters! One of these days we'll just be zap'n them with lasers. So far we 're up to using microwaves for gold! Haven 't tried it yet.

Well now.... Since I'm an expert on finding horseshoes I know something about making Gold in a micro. I've been experimenting down in the woodshop with an old microwave with limited results. Last week I tried to take an old iron horseshoe and turn it into gold (failed). Next day some old iron chain into a Gold chain (failed). Yesterday I tried turning a clump of aluminum into a gold bar. I'm now on my 3rd microwave oven. But I am learning (slowly) on what NOT to do!!!!! For more info call 1-800-HORSESHOE (not).

I hope your not standing too close to that micro wave while the ...uh hmmm experiment is in progress!
One of the kids decided to "heat up" their potato chips "in" the bag. Produced lots of sparks and loud popping sounds,
and one mad mother, but no gold! The micro wave (and kids) survived!

Amazing the things we find now days, and the trouble we get into procuring and "refining" them! Hopefully your woodshed is still standing. One if these days that Golden Horseshoe will be yours!

Ok lady... I "may" tend to expand the reality just a "little". And if and/or when I find that "Golden Horseshoe" you'll be the first to know... I promise. But I think Frank found and ran with it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Be that as it may, I have every faith that if it is at all possible you will be the one to pull it off.....and "if" Frank absconded with it...uh uhmm....we know where he lives! Knock, knock!!!! :laughing7: and Murphy can come along! He he!
