Lookin for Shells with no luck but found a Bayonet

Me and bro went lookin for another shell, with very little to show in the last hunt, we tried it again yesterday. The results were looking same as before, but near the end of the day I got a iron signal that didn't sound like the barbed wire that's all over this place and was surprised to see this perfect bayonet slide out of the soil. Not what we were looking for, but I'll take it. I'll post some pics soon as I get it cleaned. HH Thanks for the replies everyone, Happy new year!

Well MK, you and Bro had a great hunt. I have never found anything but a piece of a bayonet and your example has the lock ring too. It will really look good after electrolysis. Nice eagle button too. Merry Christmas fellow Tennesseans, Quindy.

Like the bayonet! It is always interesting to read and learn from these CW posts on the forum. Digging on a CW camp or battlefield is something what i like to do someday. I know much about the battlefields here in europe and finding a bayonet would be a good day here. Not 20 years ago, but now....
From what i read here a CW bayonet must be a very good day in Your books!

You were due to find some nice relics. Wish we could have found some artillery shells but you made the find of the day with the nice bayonet. That should clean up nice and looks like is the best one we have ever found.
