Nothing really to post as far as metal detecting finds. My wife and I did finally get to check out a possible cellar hole found using Lidar. We found the hole and to our surprise it was quiet. No signals whatsoever. So, now I'm not sure it was even a cellar hole. It wasn't stone lined, however there were stones lying all over the ground. Looked like the remnants of a stone wall about 25 yards away and what almost seemed to me to look like an old well about 20 feet in the other direction. Unfortunately, I only thought to take pics of what I thought looked like a well.
We moved out from the hole about 25 feet in all directions and only found shell casings and spent bullets and even they were few and far between. Heading back toward the game trail, I found an old Pepsi bottle, screw top so not that old. In that general area, we found what may have been a 1960's dump site from an old hunting camp or something. There was a smaller hole in the ground. Everything found was trash, old pull tabs and can tops.
Not sure if it's worth going back, I guess maybe if there is nowhere else to go. So not sure if maybe the area was detected in the past or it's just a random hole in the ground. I guess I'm leaning toward the random hole theory since there wasn't even iron within 25 feet of the hole.
