Of course a definite ID would be great!

These three items came from separate (pre 1850) house sites. The longest one is 3.5 inches long. At two of the sites I also found small brass door knobs (these may or may not be related). I have been thinking these may be finials to something, maybe a bedpost, or maybe fancy door knobs.

I agree, they look like they might be finials.

Are they metal or wood? Is there something in the bottoms? (broken off parts, bolts, boltholes)?

They are all brass and hollow. The one on the left is open at both ends, the one in the middle has a closed knob at one end and is open at the other, the one on the right is plugged with rusted iron at both ends.

The hollow one is most likely from a brass bed. it was mounted on the headboard rod as decoration.

Thanks, that would work for the one on the right in my picture.
