Hi All,

Don't have pictures as the cellphone camera battery died just as I found a cannonball, or more correctly, a 8 inch mortar, wieghing 44 pounds, has the ears, and had no fuse or gunpowder in it (thankfully).
Was alway hoping to find one as I have found fragments, higher then a kite when dug it up!!!

Just courious if there were any site that can give me a rough idea of its value (note being a west coast cannon ball if that makes any difference).

Thanks..

E-bay is the only place I can find them, you can get a good idea what they are going for.e-bay is the first place I would look to look up anything because they almost have everything.Punch in cannon balls.

Thanks, I did try that and there is nothing like the one I have. The ones on ebay are small ones, nothing big like mine. If you goto the www.civilwareartillary.com site, mine is the US Spherical 8 inch one with the big fuse hole and two ears, weighs 44 pounds... Should have seen me trying to lift this out of the hole about 20 inches down....
