Looking to get boxes of halves

Hey I am looking to find a easier way to get and return more coins my bank will only give me around $50 worth at a time. Is there some way to order cases or larger amounts that is easier than going to multiple banks and how to take them back to a bank without making the teller mad. I am trying to get mainly half dollars but the bank won't order me a whole box because they don't want them. Any help would be great thanks

Time to find some new banks Sir. Is PNC in your area? They have good coin counters.

What is pnc. I also use the state credit union and they have a counter but they won't take halves

Your only choice is to check around to different banks. My main bank wont order me halves at all, they say they cant. I go to a different branch of the same bank and they will gladly order me whatever I want, minimum order of $1000.

go to Google maps. Type in your city name and once your city pops up. Type in BANK.

Call every bank and find out who will buy halves, who they use and if they have a coin counter. Then get accounts at the ones who have coin counters that accept halves to dump at and open accounts at those that will buy you halves.

I currently have 7 branches lined up for buy banks. I have 4 banks currently that will be used for dumps, possibly 6 for dumps after I find out if they will or wont order halves. Then its time to figure out who to order from, how much and get the money together where I can get these orders going.

One thing that has helped me is that I promise the head teller that "If you order halves for me, you will never see them again." I also promise to buy the whole box (boxes in my case)...and I am true to that promise.

You should also spend some time finding banks with coin counters in the lobbies that you can use with no fee.

It is time to start shopping for multiple banks, for both ordering and dumping.

It would also pay off in spades, as I did, when I started CRHing, to read every half dollar thread on this forum, even going back to 2007.

I usually order $3000 on bank of America or chase and the first time I ordered the teller had a face of: "your are not going to dump that here don't you?". I instantly recognize she was worrying and I told her that I use TDbank to dump. Bank tellers don't want to roll hundreds of lose half dollars. It do not hurt to let them know that you are a Coin freak looking for coins errors to fill your books and that the coins you don't want you are going to dump them in another bank, specially if that bank is their competitors

Assure them that you will not return the coins to them. Once or twice of you picking them up but not dumping them would prove that you are true to your word.

I order boxes of dimes from one bank and halves from another. and i belong to a credit union that has a coin machine that doesn;'t charge .the bamk i get halves i'm not a member of. found 4 rolls of 90% and 3 40% so far from there . i go through about 2000 in dimes a week and bring them back to the bank i order them from because they have a coin machine too but they don't care.u don't have as much luck with boxes as hand rolled...but it's eisier than hitting every bank to get turned down or them not to have any...and still find alot ! ! !
