Found in Biloxi, MS from dirt underneath a road construction with my NOX 600
Thatā€™s a nice one, and a variety I donā€™t have.
Definitely a Biloxi token.
There are a few different variations from this company.
I think I may have been wrong on my initial ID.
Lopez Dukate weā€™re in business first, and the eventually Dunbar joined in forming Dunbar Lopez & Dukate.
I have spent a lot of time digging for tokens these past few years.
I get one every now and then.
Id take a local token over a silver coin any day.

I know this is a longshot, but Lazaro Lopez was my great-great-grandfather. I've been searching in Mississippi and Louisiana coin shops for years, as well as on eBay, for any tokens from Lopez, Elmer and Company, Lopez, Dunbarā€™s Sons and Company, Lopez & Dukate, Dunbars, Lopez, and Dukate Company, etc. My dad has asked me for years to keep my eyes out for one because he'd love to have that family connection. I've struck out so far. His birthday is next month. If you have any advice on where I can find an old Lopez token, I'd be so grateful. The closest I've found was a Biloxi Canning Company token from the 1940s, but as far as I know, my family was no longer in the Biloxi seafood industry then.

Great scavenger hunt item - find a coin/token with a denomination that doesn't begin with a 1, 2, or 5.

Biloxi seafood tokens are hard to find. I have been digging and collecting local tokens for years.
One of my favorite items to find, being from the coast and born in Biloxi.
There are many unlisted and unknown variations.
Just when you think you think youā€™ve seen everything, a new one pops up somewhere.
The Lopez family was definitely a big player in the game.
I have dug several Lopez tokens from different companies that the family was involved with, but not all of them.
I also have a few BCCOā€™s as well as many others.
The federal government outlawed use of tokens as payment to workers in the 1930ā€™s.
I have some duplicates of some of my tokens.
Iā€™ll shoot you a PM if youā€™re interested.
