I think this is where I would post this???

I lost my entire set of rings about 2 years ago in Florida. I contacted David Stone to see if maybe he had found them as he tries to return them to their owners. For me it was not the loss of
monetary value...as I would never have sold them....but the sentimental value they hold. Here is a description (and two pictures) of the rings I lost. They were lost near Fort Clinch State Park in Florida. Thank you for your time.

Wedding Set: three stone diamond engagement ring with channel set baguettes
on each side (14K yellow gold), and a 14K yellow gold wedding band with 4
round diamonds and a total of 6 baguettes set in pairs. These rings were
not a matching set when I purchased them...and were not soldered together.
They were purchased from Rogers and Hollands approximately 7 years ago.

Custom made Mothers Ring - One diamond (1/4 carat I believe) and one genuine
opal of the same size

one oval Tanzanite in white gold purchased from Rogers and Hollands
approximately 8 years ago

one sterling silver band with Hawaiian floral print.

yes #9 that is where the fishing pier is located.

the white square with the "p" is the parking lot they parked at ==there are "dune cross over" walkways to the beach from the parking area --- according to what she said --they crossed over the walk way to the beach area --headed straight to the ocean and set up camp not too far from the water -- the rings were lost in that general area

Good Lord willing, we will be on Amelia Island during the Thanksgiving week.

So, the beach south of the pier is detectable!

I don't know if the beach nourishment project went all the way north to the fishing pier? I don't think it did?
Maybe a chance the rings can be found?

I will call the Park Office to see if it's still OK to metal detect south of the pier before we go...
you know how they like to make and change rules!

Not trying to be a pain...but I thought I'd bump this since it's been a year...and you just never know!!!

Thanks!
Emily

Just me doing my yearly bump of this post. Still haven't given up hope! If one of these rings looks familiar PLEASE contact me! I miss my Mother's Ring the most!

Well done, congratulation!!

Hi Emily .... sorry that nothing positive was posted. Gold items tend to sink deeper and deeper which is bad news...BUT sometimes with storms sand is stripped off and then many undetectable things show up.

I'm here on the coast of California wishing I could get out there and detect. I'm hoping Ivan or someone close by might help. It would be better/easier if you could direct them as close as possible to the loss site.

Good Luck!

You might also check the web for sites like this.... Lost My Stuff Group - Report a Lost Item Page check them carefully some charge a fee. I seem to remember one site that used to post when they found rings. I assume you were talking lost in the sand not the water because im not certain but most of Fl state parks dont let you hunt in the water. Im not certain their thought or lack of thought on that one. In the sand things go deep quickly not to mention there are now even more people hunting that ever before.

You would think they would allow you to hunt in the water.....just not on the beach. I live pretty close to the area.....did you figure out if it was legal to hunt the area where the rings were lost?

Said here and other forums I visit, you can detect Clinch on the beach south of the pier

I might just go out there, this coming weekend. I'm due to get lucky.

Hello,

First I will say we did NOT find them, just don't want to gets hopes up.

But we went out in beginning of July 2016. I wanted to tell you all a few things in case you go out that may help.

1. The pier is not there anymore. It was removed but is still on all the maps and the beginning part is there so still easily able to find the spot.

2. Amelia island was evacuated and I guess the beach at this location was substantially high - the entire area was under significant water due to hurricane Matthew.

3. The state park website now states there is no Md in the park, but I called the ranger station and said south of where the pier was ok.

So it is bad news since the rings may be in a different location now.

But good news since maybe it is in a more findable spot.

I was hoping to surprise the OP with her rings, but me and my family spent a few hours attempting to find and didn't come up with them.

Good luck and if we ever go back again, we will make another attempt.
