Lots Of Goodies & Nugget Noggin

Bolstered by my success yesterday, I set off into the 20 degree morning to treasure hunt at the Honey Hole.

Half way through my hunt, a truck rides by slowly, and the people are looking at me. They pull over about 100 meters away and get out. DANG! The dude has a detector, uh oh. I bee line to “greet” him, and see what’s up with this. The place is semi-public, and I have no authority there, but it doesn’t stop me from acting like I do. As I get close, I recognize Garrett hat model and poster boy, Nugget Noggin. He lives around here. I couldn’t help but take a Cheesey, fan boy selfie him. Mock away.



I have been trying to dig all targets, especially mid tones. I have dug a ton of trash, sacks full of foil, can slaw and pull tabs. It has also been yielding keepers.

I was able to locate a buffalo and an Indian today. Neither gave a good signal I would usually dig.



A couple of silver Rosies showed up. I like dirty coin pics.



This clump of dirt had a little silver chain hanging out of it. When I smashed it, this silver tag, with nothing on it, popped out.



This chunk had a darkly tarnished ring in it, too smooth not to be silver.



All three of these silver items came from this little patch of grass, 10’ x 10’. There were several holes present in this small area. The signals were NOT good, but the targets were.



Both piece are marked, I cleaned them a bit, but they have hard tarnish of them.



I got really excited when I flipped this plug. I found my first CW bullet at this site, two weeks ago, so I instantly knew what I had just uncovered. A Minie ball.



In 4 years I’ve found only 4 pieces of gold, including the one I found yesterday. The site is huge. I went right back to the place I found the gold ring, which I searched thoroughly yesterday. When I heard this repeatable, but below a nickel signal, I dug it. It appeared that a little gold ring was in the sidewall of the hole. Sure enough, two days, two gold rings. No Vino comments Brad.





Here is what came out of the pouch, and the 9 keepers. It was a very good day for me.

Good finds buddy. I used to like nugget noggin and his videos but I just can’t get used to the promotional type of set up in his videos. We all know he uses Garrett and enjoys them so come on

Nice digs, Tom. I managed to get out and get my first silver of the year but I hit it (44d merc) prying it outta the frost.
I didn't see the other gold ring so I'll go look for that post now.

The repetition Is working that’s why Garrett sponsors him. It’s obvious that we know who he is but there was a time when yiu first stumbled upon his videos. There are others like yiu and I who will stumble upon him and if the video branding is consistent then their message will be delivered in video#1 or 1001 equally.

Branding is powerful Nugget Noggin is to Garrett as Mr Whipple is to Charmin.

No sir. He is famous and I prefer a much lower profile. We chatted about people we both know, and the finds, and the machines, but it was a 15 minute chat. I'm sure that with a million hits on You Tube, he has other things to do beside post on TNet.

His "job" is making MDing videos, and obviously Garrett pays well, so there you have it. He is nice guy, I don't have an issue with anything that anyone wants to do, as long as it doesn't mess me up. It was a surprise though. Thanks Dalton.

I can’t say a lot cause on my YouTube channel I did mention some of my detectors but I have had so many in the past different makes and models I would have to really be a fan favorite to get sponsored.

I chatted with him a bit, and dug a coin in front of him in passing, it's an 8 acre site. I went there to hunt, not hang out with someone famous. I am not into any of that type stuff. I hope I don't sound too harsh. He is a competitor to me, not an associate. He is a nice guy and all that, but I prefer to be alone.

He was not videoing, and if he was, I wouldn't have allowed him to film me.

If The Hoover Boys showed up, it would have been different story.
