louisiana boy kills grandmother

I think he popped her in the head because she told him to do something he didn't like. This type behavior is becoming more common.

We are living in crazy times.

Have they gotten crazy because of the school lunch program? Don't remember all that's going on before that.

no more grand theft video game for you , young man --- pop-- they said "care giver" on the news not grandma ---hum odd.

so the kid can "live with his mom and dad and 2 other kids now " --oh joy you just killed your dads mother , it should be such a happy family now.

1. This type of behavior is learned in a home environment.
2. Why was a loaded weapon with no safety readilly accessible to a young child?
3. Why wasn't the kid being supervised properly? I say this because if he was plopped in front of a video game, then the caregiver obviously did not know what the kid was up to.

At this age, I doubt the kid knew the consequences of his action. I doubt he even knew the difference between a real gun and fake gun.

I was previously lambasted by a few individuals for advocating teaching kids gun safety in school. Well, I think this incident is proof that such safety classes would be beneficial to teach kids to respect guns and how to tell the difference between a toy and the real thing.

Whoever gave the kid unfettered access to the weapon is ultimately the one responsible for this tragedy.

GRANNY SCREWED UP BY BOTH BY ALLOWING HIM TO PLAY SUCH VIOLENT GAMES AT SUCH A YOUNG AGE , AND BY LEAVING A GUN WHERE HE COULD GET HIS HANDS ON IT --AND FOR HAVING HIM WANDERING ABOUT "BEHIND HER" HE SHOULD HAVE BEEN ON THE COUCH BESIDE HER WATCHING WHATEVER SHE WAS WATCHING WITH HER. --ONE MUST "CONTROL" YOUNG CHILDREN --TEACHING THEM AT A YOUNG AGE THE "DANGERS" OF GUNS IF THERE IS A GUN IN THE HOUSE IS JUST GOOD COMMN SENSE.

I don't think the game had anything to do with it.
IF I'm not Mistaken there is No guns in grand theft, it's all Driving,
unless they made a bank Robbery version.

The Boy & the grandmother shared a Bedroom ?
Not sure that is Normal, even at 8.

if it had been an 8 year old Girl & Grandfater
what I'm saying would be obvious

The gun should not have been in her purse & Loaded ,
It should have at least had a trigger Lock on it at Home.

I blame the Grandmother & am glad the DA realized the Kid was Innocent
of all but being a Kid & making a mistake.
