WHAT KIND OF TREASURE ARE WE HUNTING TODAY ?
Detector(s) used
MINELAB E TRAC, EXCAL2,QUATTRO,WHITE 6000 DI PRO SL,EAGLE SPECTRUM,SILVER UMAX ,BANDIDO UMAX VARIOUS VINTAGE
well i guess we could say im fully converted. TESORO NOW. mostly been into fishers x series.which are good machines.but this baby packs so LIGHT.this micromax housing so small excellent.last machine was a mid nineyies tesoro badido 2 micromax.which was a great machine and i found a lot with it.but no comparison on depth.the trash rejection on this baby is EXCELLENT. most parks today are pretty trashy due to how long pulltabs have been with us now and proliferation of litterbugs. this baby plows right thru. still getting surface nickles and zinc pennies as hot reject pops vs crackles for trash. hi ho SILVER..AWAY

It is amazing what a company can do to make things smaller an lighter while still having great performance. I wonder when Whites will take the hint and stop making them black boxes so big an empty. LOL.......... ::)

I GUESS but i dont need no meter.look at the price difference AND i want my lifetime warranty. i bet silver goes deeper too

I got a used Mxt a few weeks ago and to me it was really big and a real bulk of a detector. Sold it but the guy i sold it to said he is getting a lot of flack from his wife. But it could be buyer remorse. So i will take it back and use it to see what it is like.....And if i like it keep it if not i can always sell it again i only paid $300.00 PLUS TAX for it at a pawn shop...............Was going to get a Cibola a few weeks ago but did not yet it is a toss up between the..Cibola & the Silver..................

I've had two m6's. They are good - (good and heavy) But very good non the less. If you open the box up there is just a component board and a huge slot for the battery pack. Plus like Sandman said there is a lot of wasted space in ALL the Whites pro machines. They need to shave a pound off of all their big box detectors. The first thing to tackle is make them run on four AA batteries. Then use carbon fiber rods.

If they can make cell phones that have keyboards, calenders and pictures they can make a detector that size. The very first thing I find out about a new detector is the weight.

a guy on the beach at ft myers fla came up to me and was using an mx6.this was b5 i bought the silver.he just wanted to check the machine i was using.which at the time was a cheapo discovery 1100 == works ok and is very lite.an older fella an said he could swing the whites only about 25 min before tiring.

I just got my silver uMax today and was wondering what you all set your sensitivity and discrimination to?

Thanks
red

i like to set the sens as high as it will go without being jumpy.varies on loc.i set the disc right at zinc pennie.i find i can discriminate out most trash and still read surface zinc 1 cent and nickel as a loud pop vs crackl for trash.a few of the older style beefier foil items can still fool u tho

Ace250,
I'm sure the Prism V is a good detector, but it's listed at $499. The Silver UMax is listed at $235. Lets just say these two machines are equally awesome in operation, which one is more attractive to the wallet? I'm sure the TID on the Prism is easy, but the tone ID on the Silver is much more accurate and you don't pass over targets that the TID might misread.

Glad to hear this about the silver.I have one I haven't used yet and am curious.I was told that I should get the 12" coil for it and then it would be super deep.Of course,I've got a XT70 that I haven't used yet also,Gunsmoke tried it for about 30min and then I have a F2 I haven't used either. The Vaquero,I've used some, the DeLeon I haven't used.Where should I begin?
