Yes, this is an actual 1854 Seated Dime...sort of. I almost tossed it because it was so thin and light, I thought it might be a zipper tab or something similar. Even after a closer look at the design, the pattern on the edge of the reverse threw me off until I did some investigating.

The back is worn smooth, post-mint engraving and all. Apparently it was common practice to file down the reverse.

There is definitely a story behind this piece. I would pay just to find out how it ended up in a Coinstar.

Dime made into a Pin (love token) it's a shame you can't Read what's Engraved on it.
Looks like at least one Name.
But nice find
