Love Tokens?

Hello everyone!
Just wanted to introduce myself to the forum and I’m thrilled to be on the site. I hope to share any of my future finds, since I just relocated to the north Georgia area. My main interest lies in civil war and colonial artifacts.
I wanted to share this “Love Token’ (?) I found near a creek side in north east Fredericksburg Virginia a while back. Dated 1774! Inches away from a large oak..,

Those early engraved coins are very cool, precursors to the Victorian fad of love token jewelry.
I like that it has a date on it!
