I dug this brass object in an old farm that dates back to the 1700s. Its about 2" , has two small pins and a ring. Looks like a moving part from something. Any ideas?

This one is in much better condition! So excited to have one you can easily identify!

Hi everyone, I found this at a digging event in Tarboro, NC. It’s probably 2in x 1in, and has two white leaf patterns on the back. I’m told it’s likely a colonial clog clasp. Can anyone confirm this is what it is? And approximately the age? Thanks
