Nice ring, you need to just take it to any jeweler, they will tell you if the stone is real and what the marks are. Nice exciting find, your I phone is very capable of closeup pix, (need macro setting) and a steady hand. Nice pix either way, and great thread!

thanks I phone 5 it takes good pics .ill probably have to wait till tomorrow for a jeweler but I'll try today

thank you I do feel blessed I wish I could keep it but I've been very strapped for cash my Mother passed in the fall and I missed a lot of work my wife says the rings from her.

heading for the city today to find out .its the most beautiful ring I've ever seen ,maybe it's just the way I found it that amazes me .i wish I had taken more pics with the small roots growing through the crevices

What a bummer. It happens more than you think. Someone posted a nice platinum with a fake stone just recently. Go figure....and I find a silver earring with real diamonds and thought for sure they were fake. You never know. Oh well , you still have some yellow and that does not suck.

That's what I figure happened .i really did think it was a great one it was only three inches down but they plowed a huge chunk of sod out this winter where I dug .(cheap jerk hope she left him)
