Found what I hope is a celt, rough condition as it is. The blade end is evenly shaped and looks to me to be made of greenstone.

Could be a Chisel looks like a bit on one end. But letā€™s see what others say. Iā€™m not positive

Possibly a Wedge also. I say that by the pounding it shows on the opposite end of the bit. A wedge is something people donā€™t realize they used but was in the tool kit. It was something they used for splitting logs. Itā€™s a very unique find and if I had found it Iā€™d put it in a frame.

To me it looks like slate which would leave out the notion of it being used as a hammer. Def looks like the bit of a celt imo

The Greenstone is TN is a lot like what I find itā€™s like a cross between Greenstone and a Rhyolite. Itā€™s softer than whatā€™s found in other states. It grinds easy but yet durable for a Celt or tool.

Well if there is an artifact show that comes close to your area Iā€™d take it and let some collectors look at it in hand to determine what exactly it is. Definitely a hard stone artifact.
