Recently on my very first "permissions" hunt I was lucky enough to find a seated liberty dime in great condition! I was ecstatic! After I found it, I made a donation to the Heritage Society that the property owner was part of. Later, I visited one of the historical properties. They recalled my name and story because of the donation. They wondered what I might find there and gave me the go ahead to look and later do a show and tell with the group. I skipped lunch and detected for four hours! There was a lot of coal in the area that kept me digging for nothing, but I did manage some nice finds including strong hit and gleaming silver Liberty half dollar, a couple of Indian Heads, a buffalo nickel, a couple of wheat pennies, a scout pin front, a part of a compact. and a couple of buttons, and a foreign 20 pence from 1990 that I thought surely was an old coin....probably dropped near the road and run over! ...and lots of junk, of course! I'll be back! I have made a second donation to the foundation...but it goes to a good cause!...I'm not making money but I am having fun and making friends.
