Another warm day lunch hour diggin. With my arm and shoulder hurting from a skunked weekend hunt I had to have one more try at a spot I've been digging for a while. At the end of the hour I finally got a nice 12 45 at 6 inches on the CTX. Up popped a crusty classic head. Couldn't wait to get home and zap it. Here are the before and after. Thanks for looking

Just spectacular. Congrats on a really sweet find. GL&HH

It's a beauty!

My lunch breaks suck compared to yours.

Great Condition for that year

That's a heckuva find! Thanks for sharing and hope you find more. Patience pays!

Now that is a beauty. congrats. How did ya "ZAP IT"? That came out great.

If not for the surface pitting that might pass as a non dug coin. Nice job.

That's the only down side to electroysis. It works so well it removes the crud from the pits. Were olive oil leaves the pitted crud but does not bring out the fine details.

Kool break that's a nice one hmmm :laughing7: kicked back eating some tasty food and a beverage of your choice or liberty caps , draped bust ,or classichead copper,

:dontknow: this ain't easy ,,,,,,,,,!

Classic Head large and half cents are rare detecting finds- pretty limited run on the large (6 years ) and low mintages (100's of thousands)
not millions for most of the dates in both denominations . Nice Find !

I had a grilled cheese sandwich for lunch and found a dead mouse on my porch from one of the cats. I believe you have me beat today. Great job!

Sounds like your cat kicked your a$$ today - Oh well some days are just like that !

I wouldn't "classify" that Classic Head as crusty. She looks pretty good even before electrolysis..

Agreed. Others on this forum have observed that dug Classic heads just don't seem to hold up as well as the other LC series. The OP has found a great coin for sure.

Heck of a nice find!

Very nice congrats
