Made it out to my new lunch site, dot from 1906 map in county park woods.

First hole through the snow.

Turned out to be a #4 crotal bell totally intact, my best one yet.

Then big thick roundness in the hole.

This guy ended up being one of two big dress weights, oh well.
Here are a couple pics of the site without snow.

And last but not least, the 1800's lid from a mint tin, had me thinking Nova when I was cleaning.

The crotal bell and the key escutcheon are cool. Too bad there were no breath mints left in the tin :tongue3:

Thx Steve, check out the full skeleton in front of the pine tree in site pic 2. I'll save the skull for your collection once it's fully bleached...

Excellent crotal bell

Some nice pieces you saved. That kinda hunt would have made me happy!

Great finds! Man, that crotal bell looked awesome with that green. I've seen those polished up and they look super neat.

Those are some cool finds! I like the design of keyhole plate. That bell is a beauty.

Great saves, pa-dirt...that bell turned out awesome! Steve in Pa said "too bad there were no breath mints inside"..I found an old jar at an old house site in the woods couple years ago, intact, with "Rawleigh's" on the lid. Research showed they made lard and mustard...and it was still full of what appeared to be lard...yuk. Actually didn't smell, but didn't look so hot..I won't be frying any eggs with it anytime soon...Congrats on a great day..Ddf

Thad, I left the skull on the tree limb in the cellar hole in order to guard our site.

Key plate has fish depicted in it ! Probably from a chest I'm thinking. Nice finds

Thx! Ancient lard, and you opened it, very brave for sure.

Nice finds out there in Western Pa.

Your lunch time hunts seem to always have nice relics. I was thinking about going out today but opted not to. Pretty cool pic with the skeleton laying there.
