go to the merchant window at a major bank and ask if they do currency exchange.

I know at Chase i've seen all the merchants have this currency book "the bermuda currency exchange" or something. But they should all be able to convert, expect to lose about 10-15% though in "fees"

Maybe there is a bank that will exchange foreign coins, but I don't know of any. I've certainly never heard of one that will do so. There is this place:

What year is the British pound? Some are key dates. Also, was it stuck to the magnet? Genuine British 1 pound coins aren't magnetic but there are some counterfeits that are, and the counterfeits are always interesting.
