just wanted to show a few images of how big the mandans made the pots for their use
these rim pieces i found had rolled down a ledge after a rain and i glued them together

the diameter of this is a bit more than 10 inches i have found some other rim pieces that were large enuff to correspond with the radius of a 5 gallon bucket
so here have a look

Hey larson1951!! Very Interesting Pieces Steve!! Took Very Skilled Hands to make those!! Thanks for Sharing!! GOOD HUNTING!! VERDE!!

very nice Larson! what made the design impressed on them...were they formed in a basket?

Very nice sized pottery piece with some well defined markings. :icon_thumleft: Thanks for sharing!

The pottery is very interesting, I believe you may have something about the lines being made with a smooth piece of rib bone.

Now that is a hunk of pottery:icon_thumleft:Great find Steve
