Marked halves - curious

Just wondering if others have seen the same marked coins I have. I live in the Minneapolis, MN area, and I saw out of every roll of halves I have searched so far, There is at least 1 marked coin in each roll. On the back, the tail is colored blue or green or red. Anyone else find these in your area. Just want to find out if it is someone local maybe doing that.

When I lived in NYC, lots of quarters were marked like that. It's from a coin game they played (street game). Don't know if they have that in
your neck of the woods.

I have come across different marked coins. I have found some with JC on them. Some with a black line across them. Then there has been some with a black mark at the top of Kennedy head. Out of the boxes I will see 15 to 20 marked coins......Matt

My last box contained over 400 marked half dollars (looked from the same batch as the markings were all blue and in the same area of the coin)

The box was a skunk as well... CRH is a non-risky gamble, you don't lose money on face value quite often (sometimes in dime rolls), but you do get skunked!

I never check or count penny rolls because losing 5 cents or so per box is nothing compared to losing $5 in dimes...

Thanks for the info. Was curious. I have also came across some halves with a black or red line on the front.

I was actualy gonna ask this as well. I live in WI and get quite a few of those marked just like that any where I get halves in the state.
