Had some time to spare today, and the weather is beautiful here in south central Wisconsin,so I decided I would try and locate abandoned homes and owners for permission.Well, found three houses, and waiting on a call from the owner.Anyway,I found a small lake and park,in the middle of nowhere.I stopped and fired up Stinky(my ace 250..dont ask) and started digging up the old ring style pulltabs. They were all at about 2 inches, all 20 or so of them, then got a coin signal.I dug and out pops 3 wheats full of green crusty patina,in the same hole, around 5 inches.I can read the dates on 2 of them,a 1913d ,a 1917d,and possibly a 1919 no mint mark.Made my day,and am going to make the 2 hr trip again tomorrow.I detected for 1 hour today so tomorrow I may make a whole day of it.Ill try and download pics of 2 day total tomorrow.
