Median Strip in San Francisco Gave Up 3 More Silvers Today!

[Cool Hand Fluke]

It's the median strip that keeps on giving! Today I dug out 3 more silver coins! A 1952 silver quarter, 39-D and 43-P mercury dimes! Also dug out 4 more wheaties and a old brass padlock. So it was another great day! Again the copper tubing was abundant! I must have dug out another 3 pounds of it! In three hours worth of hunting I only found 12 coins, but I rather have quality than quantity!

nice silvers

[CoilFisher]

Nice! For God's sake man kill that bug! That would keep me from digging! ..NOT!

[ANTIQUARIAN]

Great finds Fluke!
You've done well on these median strips eh! The on-site pics are nice too!
I really like this old padlock and here George looks like he has a black eye!

nice going. 7 oldies out of 12 coins is a pretty good ratio!

Those potato bugs are gross! You're doing well in SF - keep up the good work

[CRUSADER]

If I were in San F right now I would know exactly where to go. Up to you, but unless you have cleared it, I think this a little too caring for our community, ie. you must like to share with strangers in the hobby.

[nova]

Now your gonna have every SF detectorist hitting your spot, thanks for sharing.

Just kidding" but thats how it usually works the in the real world.
I found a virgin spot once and shared, not knowing every detector and their dogs would swoop in on my prize.

[Indiana Digger]

Some great finds there ! Congrats!

[Deno]

CHF, that ground is hard on silver.

Around here they look like the day they were dropped.

I wouldn't think you would have that much competition in SF.

Good hunting.

grate finds but where did all the copper come from ?

[johnnyblaze]

Where the copper came from is anyone guess? It is stretched out the entire length of the strip in broken pieces. Some pieces are up to two feet long, some are as small as half an inch. It's all 1/4 inch in diameter. Some have suggested that it might be an early attempt at one of the first sprinkler systems from 90 years ago?

Great work on the strip. sure you got some looks from passing care lol.

If you look closely, I think the lock says Superb. Just my thoughts.

[just-dig]

There could have been gas lights along that strip at one time, fed by the copper.

[baywalker]

looks to small for water gas sounds more like it , I wonder if there was a trolley line there at one time

Actually there's a whole lot of competition in SF...

I second that. It looks like "superb"

Was that critter that came out of the ground a mole cricket?
