I normally don't post my monthly finds but thought I would try it out the past month.
Halves (1 came from box and others from bags)
8 90%.
39 40%s
Quarters ------ 8 1 from bag and other 7 from box (4 in 1 box!)
Dimes ------- 213 (17 Mercs) 11 Canadian - 1 1917 Sterling
I did 5 bags this month and averaged exactly
the same as boxes.
As far as amount searched --- I have no exact amount. I generally do around 40K per month with 2 5k pickups each week - one on Wednesday and the other on Friday. However, on days off I will sometimes make a loop around the metro and get 4 boxes, park, search, rinse and repeat all day. The key for me is the volume, as dimes are not huge finds but very consistent. With the halves completely disappearing in my area at the start of the new year, I am taking all I can in case the same happens to dimes.
