Guess ive been bad this year. no silver surprises for me today or yesterday.
200$ in dimes, 500$ in quarters and 2 boxes of brinks halves were all skunk.
When dumping some change on thursday, i asked if i could switch a dime i had in my pocket for a specific dime in one of the tellers change trays. She replies "oh no you cant have that, that ones mine. Its a silver one" (of course i know this, they stick out like sore thumbs, which is why i asked) - she reluctantly exchanged with me, so i scored at least a dime. the bad news is that now i know there are tellers snatching them dry right out of their trays. Ill have to approach her again for intel to see if the other tellers at that branch are doing the same.
Lots of banks didnt have any change to spare me this week because of the holiday change demand. ALso ive been asked if i have an account a lot more lately than normal. Going to have to just call up the 'good' bank chain to have them order coins for me each week no questions asked.
Feeling rather discouraged this week. maybe next week will prove more lucky.
