A fun and productive detecting outing yesterday in some local woods. The hunt started with bumping into a furry friend. I often see deer in the woods. This one was especially curious and walked right up to me. After exchanging pleasantries, we both went on our separate ways:
About an hour in to the trip, I stumbled upon a nice little coin spill. A 1901-O Barber dime, and three little IHP's
Things got quiet for the next two hours, until I found what I think was a picnic area on a ridge with a distant view of downtown Boston. This spot produced 2 Rosie's, a war nickel, and three wheaties
At the end of the day I found a mystery coin...at least I think its a coin. It's very, very thin, and about the size of a nickel. Sadly, its also in horrendous condition. But in the first picture, you can make out some lettering in the botton right quadrant of the coin. I have no idea what this could be. If anyone has any thoughts, please let me know.
