In an area, well, an old wagon path where I once found a musket ball and large cent I found this metal arrowhead. My gut feeling is that it is old, too. Also found the pictured ring (no idea) and the piece of silverware. I dont find eating utensils much but this'll piece is heavy. It doesn't seem to clean up like silver though I didn't go crazy scrubbing it. It is very flat and smooth and has a little bend where it broke. Pewter? Hammered?
The dime and quarter just show a relative scale. Thanks for looking.

What state are you? Does the round item look like it is copper? The reason I am asking is that it looks like a copper trade bead.

New England usually. It wasn't too deep which doesn't always mean too much, but sounded nice on thd sovereign gt. There is no threading in it at all so I didn't think it was just a nut or anything. The flatware sounded like silver and was about 8" deep. Wish I could have found the other part. I also found drawer pull screw in the area once.

..plus the arrowhead. What's a brushing for or part of?

Sweet, a trade-bushing.
Definitely interested if anyone has an age for the flatware or ideas if it was hammered or what. Might be asking a lot because of the lack of lettering I guess.

That piece of flatware is probably pewter. That would explain it not shining up and it was commonly used in flatware

Thanks - that makes sense. It really has some weight to it (well, 12 grams). Sounded off nice like lead does, too.

Now that's a new one "trade bushing!"
This is just a wild guess but the two pieces of metal look so much alike it makes me want to think someone cut up a spoon and made an arrowhead... At some point in time.

I'm not seeing that as a piece of flatware.
Both of the pieces look like cut copper in the photos to me.
Any moonshine stills in your area?

Don't know, really. I didn't smell any mash but the wind was blowing pretty hard that day.

Smelling mash wouldn't really have anything to do with what I was talking about.
Many stills are made from copper.. and many alterations are made on those while out in the woods. I'm thinking you have possible pieces from that.
I just don't think those pieces of copper are that old
