Hi all, I will be visiting Miami Beach from Germany in July of this year on a short vacation, I am hoping to bring my Metal Detector with me.
Who do I need to contact to gain permission to detect the beach area close to the Riu Plaza Hotel, any help with information would be
greatly appreciated.

Ask permission to detect a public beach? I don't think so! Seriously just check local ordinance and go from there.

Thanks very much enamel7

Detect all you want, no issues. Have fun and let us know if you find anything worthwhile. Good luck.

Thank you, That has put my mind at rest, will do

It is I, yes me, Tom_in_CA, who owns that beach. As such, I give you permission.

You must send me 30% of all your finds though. If anyone hassles you, just tell them "Tom in CA" said you could. They will slink away in embarrassment for having questioned you. 8-)

No permission required, hunt away........ Just be careful of the sharks..:laughing7:

Thanks, You guys rock

Maybe you can find someone near Miami who will loan you a detector & hunt with you. That way you would not have to bring a detector with you.

Bring mirrored sunglasses so the girls won't see you looking at them. :laughing7:

you want to get out there at sunrise or before sunset
water hunting is more rewarding but goodies can be had on the dry sand
Ive done pretty good in the diamond dept in the waters down there
I had a short trip down there where I got 26 pieces of gold jewelry - my best trip to date
